The IDTech VP7200 is much more than a traditional NFC card reader. As the third product in the NEO 3 platform, it combines the ability to execute payment applications directly with the capability to control an external LCD display—all within an exceptionally compact housing. It is PCI PTS 6.X and EMV certified, supports all common Contactless payment methods, Loyalty programs, and—optionally—an integrated camera for reading barcodes and QR codes—all within an IP65-rated, weather-resistant housing designed for outdoor use.

More Than Just a Reader: Application Hosting and External Display Control

The VP7200 can run payment applications independently—without an external host computer. At the same time, it can control an external LCD display, for example, to show advertising content, payment instructions, or transaction status. This combination makes it the ideal solution for space-saving, autonomous payment points where a full-featured terminal is not necessary or desired.

NFC, QR codes, and loyalty—all in one

The VP7200 supports NFC tap-to-pay with contactless debit and credit cards as well as mobile wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay), and also supports FeliCa and MIFARE for closed systems. Apple VAS and Google Smart Tap are integrated for loyalty programs. The optional integrated camera adds the ability to scan barcodes and QR codes.

Built for outdoor use: IP65, wide temperature range, multiple connectivity options

The VP7200 is IP65-certified—dust- and water-jet-protected—making it suitable for continuous use in demanding outdoor environments. Connectivity options include USB-C, Ethernet, RS232, and optional cellular connectivity (LTE/Cellular), making it particularly versatile for use in transit ticket vending machines, parking meters, EV charging stations, and similar applications.

NEO 3 Platform: One Certification, All Devices

As part of the NEO 3 platform, the VP7200 shares the same EMV L2 Common Kernel with all other NEO 3 products. Anyone who certifies the VP7200 receives certification for the entire platform—a significant time and cost advantage when scaling.
