The Neowave Badgeo FIDO2+QSCD is the smart card solution for businesses and government agencies that require strong web authentication and legally valid electronic signatures in a familiar, compact credit card format. It combines FIDO2 (CTAP 2.1), FIDO U2F, and an eIDAS QSCD- certified PKI applet—all on a Java Card™ certified to Common Criteria EAL6+.

With the Badgeo FIDO2+QSCD, users get two powerful security features on a single card. The eIDAS-qualified electronic signature fully replaces the handwritten signature under European law: It guarantees the signer’s identity, the integrity of the document, and the non-repudiation of the signature. At the same time, the FIDO2 applet enables Passwordless Authentication and Two-Factor Authentication for hundreds of online services.

ISO 7816 Contact Interface and AET SafeSign Middleware

The Badgeo FIDO2+QSCD uses the proven ISO/IEC 7816 contact interface in combination with the AET SafeSign Identity Client middleware (CSP/KSP/PKCS#11). This combination ensures tamper-proof communication and seamless integration into existing PKI infrastructures for Windows login, VPN, SSO, email encryption, and digital signatures.

Comprehensive Cryptography and the Highest Level of Certification

The Java Card™ component is certified to Common Criteria EAL6 +. The QSCD applet supports RSA 2048/3072/4096-bit and ECC P-256/P-384/P-521. The FIDO2 applet offers credProtect, hmac-secret, Enterprise Attestation, largeBlobs, and extended PIN management (Protocols 1 and 2). Physical building access via DESFire EV3 (ISO 15693) is also available as an option—turning the card into a universal corporate ID.
