Neowave Badgeo QSCD – The professional PKI smart card for qualified electronic signatures, physical and logical access control

In companies, government agencies, and regulated industries, the combination of physical Access Control and digital identity is a key security issue. The Neowave Badgeo QSCD combines both in a single smart card in the familiar credit card format—secure, scalable, and easy to manage.

Certified Security at the Highest Level

The Badgeo QSCD was developed entirely in Europe and bears the “Cybersecurity Made in Europe” label. The integrated Java Card™ component is certified to Common Criteria EAL6+. The eIDAS QSCD-certified PKI applet enables legally valid qualified electronic signatures throughout the EU—in compliance with eIDAS, PSD2, and QSCD Requirements.

ISO 7816 contact interface for secure connections

The Badgeo QSCD uses the proven ISO 7816 contact interface and is used with a compatible smart card reader, which ensures particularly secure communication between the card and the system. The AET SafeSign Identity Client (CSP/KSP/PKCS#11) middleware guarantees seamless integration into existing IT environments.

Centralized Management of Physical and Logical Access Rights

With Badgeo QSCD, companies can centrally manage all logical and physical access rights. Supported use cases: Windows login, VPN, SSO, PKI certificate management, email encryption, and qualified digital signatures. PKI certificates can be generated directly on the card, users can be registered, and access rights can be temporarily or permanently revoked.

Strong Cryptography and Custom Design

RSA 2048/3072/4096-bit and ECC P-256/P-384/P-521 are supported. All certificates are protected by a PIN and PUK (5–15 bytes, max. 3 failed attempts). Optionally, the card can be customized with a company logo, photo, name, or unique number—ideal as an employee ID card with a digital security feature.

Who is the Badgeo QSCD suitable for?

Companies and government agencies that wish to use employee ID cards with digital security features, as well as all industries with Compliance requirements (eIDAS, PSD2). The credit card format (85.6 × 54 × 0.76 mm, 5 g) fits in any wallet and works with any access control system.
