Feitian BioPass FIDO2 Plus K26+ – The biometric USB-C Security Key with Fingerprint, FIDO2, and PIV for enterprises and regulated industries
The Feitian BioPass FIDO2 Plus K26+ is an evolution of the proven K26: It combines all the strengths of the biometric USB-C Security Key— fingerprint authentication, FIDO2, FIDO U2F, and FIPS 140-2 Certification —with an important additional feature that makes it particularly attractive for corporate and government environments: built-in PIV (Personal Identity Verification) support for PKI-based authentication using X.509 certificates.
PIV: Certificate-Based Authentication for Businesses and Government Agencies
The integrated PIV smart card applet enables RSA- and ECC-based signature and encryption operations using a Private Key that is securely stored on the device. PIV (FIPS 201) is the U.S. government standard for strong authentication and is used for smart card login, document signing, and other PKI-related operations. The PIV functionality has already been tested and verified by HYPR, Versasec, and Secmaker. The K26+ thus complements biometric FIDO2 authentication with a complete PKI solution on a single device.
Fingerprint Authentication: Match-on-Device for Maximum Privacy
As with the K26, the Fingerprint Sensor operates entirely on-device: All biometric data is stored and processed in encrypted form in the integrated security chip, never leaves the device, and cannot be reconstructed. Up to 32 fingerprint templates can be registered. Fingerprint registration is performed using the free BioPass FIDO2 Manager app.
FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certified – comprehensive cryptography
The K26+ is certified to NIST FIPS 140-2. Supported cryptographic standards: RSA 1024, RSA 2048, ECC P-256, ECC P-384, AES, ECDSA, and SHA-256. Up to 50 resident credentials can be stored. The key is recognized as a standard HID device—no driver or software installation required.
Broad platform and service compatibility
Compatible with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. Supports Windows Hello for Business and Microsoft Azure Entra ID for Passwordless Authentication. Other supported services include Gmail, Facebook, Dropbox, Salesforce, DUO Security, OKTA, Ping Identity, Coinbase, Bank of America, and many other FIDO-compatible platforms.
