Windows Biometric Framework (WBF): Native Windows integration of Fingerprint recognition
The Windows Biometric Framework is a native component of the Windows operating system designed for Biometric Authentication. Since the K49 Pro supports WBF, the Fingerprint Sensor can be used for all WBF-compatible Windows applications— Windows Hello login, password storage, local account login, and more—without any additional software or drivers. This goes far beyond simple FIDO2 Passwordless authentication and makes the K49 Pro the only device that functions as a full-fledged Windows fingerprint reader.
PIV and OTP: Comprehensive Authentication Coverage
The integrated PIV smart card applet enables RSA- and ECC-based PKI authentication for smart card login, document signing, and VPN access (compatible with Microsoft Active Directory). In addition, the K49 Pro supports HOTP and TOTP (via the Feitian Authenticator app) for legacy systems. This means a single key covers all common enterprise authentication scenarios.
FIDO2 CTAP 2.1 with comprehensive specifications
The K49 Pro supports FIDO2 CTAP 2.1 and FIDO U2F with up to 128 resident credentials and up to 16 registrable fingerprint templates. Cryptographic standards: RSA 1024/2048, ECC P-256/P-384, AES, ECDSA, SHA-256. NIST FIPS 140-2 certified. The key is recognized as a standard HID device—no driver required.
