The Feitian ePass FIDO-NFC Plus ePass K40+ is the most powerful USB-C model in the entire ePass NFC product line. It combines USB-C, NFC, FIDO2, FIDO U2F, and OTP with two key additional features: PIV (Personal Identity Verification) and OpenPGP —and is also certified to FIPS 140-2 Level 2. This makes the K40+ the USB-C counterpart to the K9D and is designed for anyone who needs to combine the highest security requirements with state-of-the-art interface technology.

PIV: Government Standard for Privileged System Access

The integrated PIV applet enables certificate-based authentication in accordance with the U.S. FIPS 201 standard—for access to federal agencies, government networks, servers, and privileged systems. The K40+ thus enables government employees, contractors, and security officers to perform comprehensive PKI-based identity verification for logical and physical access, supplemented by a high-performance NXP security element as the cryptographic foundation.

OpenPGP and comprehensive protocol support

In addition to PIV, the K40+ offers OpenPGP support for secure email encryption, digital document signing, and code signing. Combined with FIDO2 for passwordless authentication, FIDO U2F for Two-Factor Authentication, and HOTP/TOTP for legacy systems, this results in an exceptionally broad range of protocols supported by a single key. Site-specific Key Pairs provide reliable protection against phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks.

FIPS 140-2 Level 2 certified – for the most stringent compliance requirements

The K40+ is certified to FIPS 140-2 Level 2 (+ Physical Security Level 3), which qualifies it for use in government, military, and highly regulated enterprise environments. The embedded high-performance NXP security element generates strong, random Key Pairs and ensures tamper-resistant protection for all cryptographic operations.

USB-C + NFC for maximum device flexibility

The K40+ works with PCs, laptops, and workstations via USB-C, and with smartphones and NFC-enabled devices via NFC. Operating systems: Android, Chrome OS, Windows, macOS, Linux—no drivers or client software required. Compatible with Microsoft Azure Entra ID, Google, OKTA, Ping Identity, DUO Security, Salesforce, Coinbase, Bank of America, and hundreds of other FIDO-compatible services. Up to 26 resident credentials can be stored.
