Strong web authentication and legally binding electronic signatures are no longer separate requirements in modern businesses—they must go hand in hand. The Neowave Winkeo2J-A FIDO2 + QSCD combines both worlds in a single, compact USB-A Security Key: FIDO2 (CTAP 2.1), FIDO U2F, and an eIDAS QSCD -certified PKI applet—all on a Common Criteria EAL6+-certified smart card.

Two functions, one key: FIDO2 and qualified digital signature

The Winkeo2J-A FIDO2 + QSCD offers passwordless FIDO2 authentication along with an eIDAS-qualified electronic signature that guarantees the authenticity of the signer, the integrity of the signed document, and non-repudiation in accordance with European standards. The Private Key never leaves the device—this is the fundamental prerequisite for both legally valid qualified signatures and secure authentication.

EAL6+ smart card with JCOP4 chip

At the heart of the key is an integrated contact smart card (ISO 7816, JCOP4), certified to Common Criteria EAL6+. The eIDAS-QSCD-PKI applet supports RSA 2048/3072/4096-bit as well as ECC P-256, P-384, and P-521. A PIN and PUK (5–15 bytes, max. 3 failed attempts) protect access to all stored certificates. The FIDO2 applet uses ECC P-256 and supports Enterprise Attestation, credProtect, hmac-secret, largeBlobs, and other CTAP 2.1 extensions.

Passwordless Authentication and Two-Factor Authentication

Just plug it in, enter your PIN, and press the button—Passwordless Authentication works natively with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Entra ID. FIDO U2F can be used to secure over 250 online services (Gmail, Facebook, Dropbox, GitHub, WordPress) and identity federation platforms (Evidian, Ilex, OKTA, Ping Identity). Extended compatibility with Zimbra and Office 365 via WebSSO services.

For the QSCD feature: Windows, macOS, Linux. For FIDO: Windows. Browsers: Chrome, Chromium, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi. Developed and manufactured in Europe, the key bears the ” Cybersecurity Made in Europe” label. Optional: Customization with a logo, photo, name, or serial number.
