The Winkeo2J-C QSCD was developed entirely in Europe and bears the ” Cybersecurity Made in Europe” label. At the heart of the token is an integrated ISO 7816 (Java Card™) micro-SIM smart card that is certified to Common Criteria EAL6+ —the highest internationally recognized security standard for smart card components. In addition, the device uses a PKI applet certified as a QSCD (Qualified Electronic Signature Creation Device) under eIDAS, which enables it to generate legally valid qualified electronic signatures throughout the European Union.

It supports key use cases such as Windows login, VPN access, single sign-on (SSO), email encryption, digital signatures, and PKI-based certificate management. The AET SafeSign Identity Client (CSP/KSP/PKCS#11) middleware enables seamless integration into existing system environments.

Strong Cryptography for Maximum Protection

The token supports a wide range of modern cryptographic algorithms: RSA with 2048, 3072, and 4096 bits, as well as ECC based on NIST P-256, P-384, and P-521. The private key material never leaves the device—a key requirement for tamper-proof signatures and secure authentication processes. PIN and PUK codes protect access to the device, with configurable lengths and a limited number of failed attempts.

The Winkeo2J-C QSCD runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux and is compatible with all major browsers—including Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari. The simple USB Type-A Interface makes the device ready for use right away, without the need for complicated hardware modifications.
