The Neowave Badgeo NFC FIDO2+OTP is the fully Contactless solution to complex authentication requirements in modern enterprise environments. As a credit-card-sized smart card based entirely on NFC, it combines FIDO2 (CTAP 2.1), FIDO U2F, and OTP (HOTP/TOTP) —no cables, no USB port, and no compromises on security.

Completely contactless: NFC for maximum user-friendliness

The Badgeo NFC FIDO2+OTP uses exclusively contactless interfaces: ISO/IEC 14443-A (DESFire EV2/EV3) and, optionally, ISO 15693 and 125 kHz. Authentication is performed simply by holding the card near a compatible NFC reader or NFC-enabled smartphone—no physical contact, no insertion, no cables. This simplicity makes the card particularly attractive to companies that already operate NFC-based infrastructures for building access or time tracking.

OTP as a Bridge to Existing Systems

The integrated OTP applet supports TOTP with a validity period of 30 or 60 seconds, as well as HOTP with a configurable seed and 6 to 8 digits. SHA-1, SHA-256, and SHA-512 are available as hash algorithms. This allows older OTP-based portals and systems to continue to be used while preparing for or completing the transition to FIDO2. The free NEOWAVE OTP Manager app is required for OTP use.

EAL6+ Security and FIDO L1 Certification

The card’s Java Card™ component is certified to Common Criteria EAL6+ —the highest recognized security level for smart card components. The official FIDO L1 certification from the FIDO Alliance complements this security level with verified hardware security. The Private Key never leaves the card. Developed and manufactured in Europe, the card bears the “Cybersecurity Made in Europe” label.

Wide compatibility and optional customization

Compatible with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Entra ID for Passwordless Authentication. FIDO U2F supports over 250 online services (Gmail, PayPal, Dropbox, OVH, WordPress) as well as identity federation platforms (Evidian, Ilex, OKTA, Ping Identity).
